We provide comprehensive, personalized instruction!
At Yarrada Farm, It doesn't matter if you have never ridden before or been riding for 20 years, we cater for beginner riders through to competition level riders and have horses to suit.
Yarrada Farm Riding School is a private riding school operating on a family horse property in Perth's Swan Valley.
The Chief Instructor, Sheryl Parkes (BHSAI), her husband and three daughters, have been involved with horses all their lives: showing, competing and breeding at a top level throughout Australia.
Sheryl Parkes (BHSAI) alone has over 45 years of teaching experience.
Consequently, the family has a wealth of experience to offer young, inexperienced riders as well as the more experienced competition riders.
The family's love of horses is evident in the quality of the horses that are available.
At Yarrada Farm you will not only meet new friends, you will further your riding skills in a fun and safe environment.
Riders enjoy fresh air at the same time as taking exercise. The mere act of patting a horse is proven to lower your blood pressure. Caring for a horse gives humans experience of relationships, responsibility and friendship - bonding with a horse is the best stress buster you can find!
Horse riding lessons are the ideal way to gain confidence, learn to ride, or further your horse riding skills and knowledge.
Riders will learn everything on how to care for a pony, grooming them, care of saddlery, general stable duties and horsemanship skills.
Safe enjoyable riding is our number one priority, and accordingly all of our friendly staff are happy to accommodate nervous beginners to the more experienced rider.
One of the most important aspects of learning is being able to practice what you have been taught. On a residential camp the students have two ridden lessons a day. Riding everyday helps students to learn and develop their skills a lot quicker than a lesson once a week.
Students are taught and experience the discipline of horse management ie; grooming, cleaning, feeding, watering and generally looking after a horse. Residential camps are great for those that want to experience what its like to own your own horse or pony. And it’s great for meeting new friends in a relaxed and fun environment.
Students also participate in other activities such as bareback games, cushion polo and Prince Phillip Games. We also have unmounted lessons during camp where we teach students parts of pony, saddlery and caring for these and basic horsemanship skills.
If you have questions about the opportunities available to you in our programs, feel free to send us a message. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
